The Yale EM is a part of the Yale Korean Presbyterian Church in NY, of the Korean Presbyterian Church in America (no affiliation with the university).
The name comes from the joining of two Korean words: YAE-SU (Jesus) and JAE-IL (First).
Founded in 1993, Yale church is now celebrating its 15th year.
Our EM is 9 years old. After having dwelled as tenants in the Oakland Jewish Temple located in Bayside, Queens for over 5 years, we have moved into our own building in Hicksville, Long Island on February 2005.

Our EM consists of folks who just graduated high school to college students to young professionals, and families who are more comfortable with English, yet want to keep a connection with our Korean heritage.
Our EM worship takes place each Sunday morning at 11:30am in our EM Room.
We are divided up in three groups: the College Group, the Post-College Group, and the Uriel Group (married and/or 30 and over). We have monthly prayer meetings, seasonal gatherings, retreats, group activities, regular fellowships, and One-to-One Discipleship Training.

Our Mission

The EM of Yale Presbyterian Church strives to be the church described in the fourth chapter of the Book of Ephesians. Particularly "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ"
(Ephesians 4:12-13)

We believe that this Community can be achieved through faithfulness and consistency to the foundational elements of our faith: Worship, Scripture, Prayer, and Fellowship.
